To: Faculty, staff members, students and alumni of Nagoya University
The Information & Communications (ICH) has started to use the Nagoya University ID as its user ID to allow users to access the information services provided by Nagoya University. The Nagoya University ID will be provided to all members of Nagoya University and can be used as a lifelong ID.
You can use information infrastrucutre with Nagoya University ID based authentication (e.g. Single Sign On with CAS service). Now we are migrating to Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) so that please prepare for MFA by setting up Authentication app or registering Hardware Token.

Persons to whom the Nagoya University ID is provided
The Nagoya University ID will be provided to the following persons (Rules for Management of the Nagoya University ID at Nagoya University).
- Officers and staff members of the University
- Students of the University
- Special audit students, non-degree students, audit students, special research students and research students of the University
- Retirees, graduates and persons who completed doctorate or master’s course of the University
- Persons who are approved by the Director of the Information & Communications based on a request by the director of a department
- Other persons whom the Director of the Information & Communications finds appropriate
Method of giving notification on the Nagoya University ID
- When an initial identification card, such as a staff ID, student ID, etc. is issued, the Nagoya University ID will be provided (to be stated in the ID) and notification of its password will be made in the Password Notification for the Nagoya University ID.
- The Nagoya University ID will be provided and we will notify regular students who enter the University in 2008 and thereafter upon their entrance.

With regard to other students, including research students, special research students, trainees, etc., a Nagoya University ID will be issued upon receipt of a Nagoya University ID Application.

(It may take several days for it to be issued.)

With regard to graduates, persons who completed doctorate or master’s course and retirees of Nagoya University, we will notify them of their Nagoya University ID in response to receipt of the Application for Giving a Notice on Nagoya University ID.

Request for Password Management
The Nagoya University ID is an important user ID that is used for authentication for various information services at Nagoya University. Please pay special attention to your password management.
- When you receive a new ID, change the initial password immediately.

If you forget your password
Students: Please fill out the Password Reissue Application (Japanese version: PDF, Word; English version: PDF, Word) and submit it in any of the following methods:
- Send the application form as attachment to: e-office@media.nagoya-u.ac.jp
- Bring the application form directly to the Information Media Office of the Information & Communications (Room 1011, 10th Floor, IB Building North)
Faculty and staff members:
Please contact the General Affairs Section (in charge of shared use), Information and Communications Promotion Section, Information and Communications Promotion Department of the Information & Communications (Information Technology Center 1F (Phone: 052-789-4354)).
- No ID or password can be issued via telephone or email. It must be provided directly to the user at the contact window or via internal mail (hard-copy). (It may take several days to reach you when using internal mail.)
Graduates, persons who completed doctorate or master’s course and retirees of the University:
Please send via postal mail or bring the Alumni Application for a Nagoya University ID (including former faculty and staff members) (PDF) and all necessary documents to the General Affairs Section (in charge of shared use), Information and Communications Promotion Section, Information and Communications Promotion Department of the Information & Communications: Contact window at the Information Technology Center 1F (Phone: 052-789-4354).
