Outline of the Information Technology Department

The Information Technology Department was established as an administrative and technical support organization for the Information & Communications, which is a university-wide administrative support organization, and carries out various operations in cooperation with the Information Technology Center, the Information Strategy Office, and the Information Security Office.

The Information Planning Division and the Information System Operation Division have been established within the Information and Environment Department, and both divisions are in charge of supporting the computerization of the Tokai National Higher Education and Research System and universities.

  • The Information Planning Division is engaged in the following duties :
    • Matters related to planning, drafting, and promotion of basic measures related to information technology
    • Matters related to the administration of the Information and Communications Headquarters, Gifu University Information and Communications Promotion Headquarters, and Nagoya University Information and Communications Promotion Headquarters
    • Matters related to medium-term targets and medium-term plans related to information
    • Digital University
    • Matters related to information security
    • Other matters related to the promotion of computerization
  • The Information System Operations Division is engaged in the following duties :
    • Matters related to management, operation, and support of networks, databases, etc.
    • Matters related to the maintenance, management, operation, and support of nationwide joint use and computer systems
    • Matters related to the development, management, operation, and support of information and education infrastructure, e-learning, etc.
    • Matters related to the development, management, operation, and support of certification infrastructure, etc.
    • Matters related to support for development, management and operation of office systems, etc.
    • Matters related to IT help desk
    • Other matters related to information infrastructure
